Football Tour Extra

Capturing the Central Coast Section Division I title last year didn't come by accident.
San Benito got hot at the right time behind junior quarterback David Stanton, who either rushed or threw for eight touchdowns in three postseason wins.
The Balers came of age in the postseason, anchored by all-league linebacker Cody Freitas. The core is back, which makes them the team to beat in the MBL's Gabilan Division.
Moving Christopher into the MBL's Pacific Division will be brief. This team would have competed well in the Gabilan. It could run off with the Pacific behind all-state linebacker Jacob Moen.
After two straight playoff appearances, Monte Vista Christian got booted into the Gabilan Division. I am not sure why? The numbers aren't big and it was a senior dominated team last fall.
Watsonville lost over 80 percent of its offense to graduation. With that went 36 of the Wildcatz 40 touchdowns.
Pajaro Valley hasn't won a league game since 2007. If you're counting, that's 31 consecutive league losses. However, 1,000 yard running back Anthony Cantrell provides hope.
Tailback Brandon Boyd is back for Gilroy, who was moved from the Gabilan to the Pacific Division after giving up 70 or more points twice, and 50 plus points in three other games last fall.
