Football Tour VIII Greenfield

Greenfield

Hard to believe that a program that finished 3-7 lead in every game it played last year.
Second half collapses were a common theme for the Bruins, who failed to finish above .500 for the first time in five years.
When you don't have a lot of depth, one or two injuries can be devastating.
Greenfield is in a similar predicament this year as its roster will hover around 30. Eight players could start on both sides of the ball.
The good thing is the Bruins are out to make amends. This is a group of players that clearly believes they under achieved last year, that they failed to finish.
Returning linebacker David Vega, one of those injured last year, said this group is in better shape. He is part of a linebacking core that is as strong as any in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
The Bruins have had a tailback rush for over 1,000 yards seven out of the last eight seasons. There is good size on the offensive line.
Greenfield is my sleeper team in the MTAL. Don't take them lightly. It was a focused group during a recent practice.
My only concern is health. This is a team with a strong core, but not a lot of depth should one of the front liners go down.
