Top 5 defensive football teams from 2012

Last year's Top 5 defensive football teams based solely on points allowed.

1. Monterey 12.2: Recorded four straight shutouts before giving up 34 in a playoff loss to Aptos.
2. Seaside 12.5: Shutout three opponents, but gave up 62 points in two playoff games.
3. Stevenson 14.0: How much better would this average have looked had it not yielded 42 to Carmel?
4. Alisal 14.9: Was winless when it gave up 20 or more points.
5. Monte Vista 15.1: Allowed just 69 points in league play.
If you're looking for a team to creep into the top five this year, North County wouldn't be a bad choice.

you have to say Seaside had the best defence in the county, for 2012.they held the great James Hill to 12 car,38 yds.2 for 8 pass,19 yds and 2 Ints, held Monterey to no offensive Tds.

id agree spartacus. at first i was going to argue that Monterey had a harder schedule due to being in the Gab division but then i remembered the joke non league schedule that they played. But seaside didnt have a hard schedule at all so based on strength of schedule they were probably pretty close. I do think that Montereys Defense was underrated though and I do believe Seasides whole team was overrated.

how can you say they were overrated, they would have won Gablian div.there offense can score on any defence.Menlo game was matter of not adjusting to what they were doing.that's on the coaches.

ehhh idk if they would have won the Gab division. Sure based on there record in the Pacific and their 2 matchups with Gab opponents you could say that. But if they were in the Gab their schedule would have been harder week in and week out. And they couldnt score on any defense. When playing teams that you could even consider good they only averaged 20.5 points. And their defense gave up on averaged 15.8 against those opponents. soooo idk. they only had to play 3 teams in a row with winning records. other then that they had all "tough" games with a cupcake game in between. AND seaside was completely overrated. Their oline was garbage. Mikey was a great athlete who kept plays alive with his legs. He does have a strong arm...But he makes terrible decisions and his WR made him look 10x better then he was...You can blame things on the coaches if you want but they are the ones that control the game so they are part of the team. Menlo was the first team they played that actually had a really good offense and they got killed. They couldnt rely on their athleticism to win.
Ur entitled to ur opinion just like i am mine but ur obviously bias towards seaside so im not shocked with ur opinion.

Oh yea i forgot to comment about the "great" james hill comment...Cmon He is far from being great he may be a really good athlete but he was far from being a great QB..it wasnt like he ran all over every defense he faced except for seaside.
