The former Salinas High and Hartnell College shortstop is headed to Chris Mullin's alma mater as Wayman will play baseball next spring at St. John's University.
Wayman was a bright spot at the plate for the Panthers this past spring, finishing fourth in the Coast Conference in hitting at .356.
The sophomore lead Hartnell in hits (52), runs scored (30), walks (19) and stolen bases (18). He also sported a .952 fielding percentage.
