Is it a coincidence that five members of the Giants that took part in the World Baseball Classic have been battling injuries, or have played or pitched poorly.
Angel Pagan may be out for the season with a torn hamstring that's requiring surgery. All-star Pablo Sandoval just returned from the DL with an injury.
The Giants sorely miss reliever Santiago Casilla, who is on the 15 DL, and Ryan Vogelsong is on the 60 day DL.
Prior to getting hurt, Vogelsong didn't look good in the rotation. Neither has reliever Jeremy Affeldt.
It doesn't stop with the Giants.
Other notable players that have been banged up include the Mets David Wright and Milwaukee's Ryan Braun.
