Before the day is up, Seaside could own no worse than a share of the programs first ever Monterey Bay League softball title.
 More likely, it will have to wait until Friday to clinch.
 No worries.
 The Spartans aren't looking for help.
 This is something Seaside wants to do by themselves.
 The Spartans face a Monte Vista squad today that sits just two games back, having won six straight Pacific Division games since falling 10-9 to Seaside on March 25.
 During their run, the Mustangs have outscored the opposition 80-14.
 Having tied the school record for league wins at 8-0, Seaside has relied on five freshmen to ignite the program, including leading hitter Malia Usrey and pitcher Kaitlyn Hernandez.
 Yet, it's been senior holdover and four year starter Bianca Kim that has led by example as Seaside  pursues perfection and a banner.
