Otters baseball


The No. 7 ranked and CCAA champion Otters will open the conference tournament, facing Sonoma State on Thursday in Stockton.
 The top-seeded Otters closed the season by going 15-1. CSUMB swept Sonoma State in four games this year. Sonoma went 10-2 down the stretch to earn the No. 4 seed out of the CCAA.
 Former Palma standout Garrett Schwartz hit .325 for the Seawolves with 51 hits and 24 runs batted in. CSUMB coach Walt White spent several years as an assistant at Sonoma State.
 The Otters set a school record for wins for the second straight year at 37-13. A.J. Quintero led the conference in saves with 10.
