Menlo (22-7) vs. Pacific Grove (30-0)
Saturday, 4 p.m. at San Jose Municipal Stadium
Division III Championship
This is the Knights fourth straight trip to the Division III finals, having won two of the last three CCS titles.
Last spring the Breakers kept the West Bay Athletic League champions from three-peating with a 10-6 win.
Nothing has come easy for Menlo, as it has won all three playoff games by one run, beating Carmel in the seventh and Palma in the eighth inning.
Pacific Grove's pitching staff has not allowed an earned run in its last seven games. Conyal Cody will likely draw the starting assignment. But 14-0 Chris Clements is available.
While the reigning champion Breakers have downplayed their record 37 game winning streak, it's out there and it gets more attention with each win.
No team has ever gone undefeated since the CCS playoffs begin in 1967.
