CSUMB baseball

 The Otters can capture their first ever CCAA baseball title as early as today with a doubleheader sweep of UC San Diego.
 CSUMB, which has already qualified for the playoffs, and shattered its single season school record for wins, is 23-5 at home this year.
 It went into its season series finale riding a 11-game winning streak behind the golden arms of co-aces Jeff Owen and Will Anderson, who are a combined 18-3 this spring.
 Anderson, who sports a 1.87 earned run average and has 67 strikeouts in 81 innings, is among five Otters that could here their named called in the MLB June Amateur Draft.
 San Benito High graduates Mark Hurley, Brian Haggett and Ronnie Fhurong are the top three hitters for the Otters, while Gilroy native David Garcia leads the team in homers and RBI.
