The Panthers Austin Decker will go into today's Northern California finals ranked No. 1 in the state in the pole vault at 16-1 1/2.
 Michael Ramirez, who qualified in the 10,000, will take a shot at the 5,000 while Aaron Vaughn is chasing a spot in the 110 high hurdles.
 Having already qualified for the state meet in the 10,000 in the women's division, Victoria Alcala will look to move on in the 5,000 along with Hartnell distance ace Amy Johnston.
 Other Panthers chasing state spots include Ashley Jones in the 100 and 200, Iesha Boyd in the 400, and Johnston in the 1,500.
 MPC's Stephen Dorsey, who is ranked No. 2 in the state in the decathlon, will look to extend his season in the long jump along with teammate Isaiah Brown.
