Palma-Monterey baseball

This is not a league where you can overlook anyone.
Palma learned that when it fell from the unbeaten ranks to North Salinas, who was winless in league play at the time.
So I don't see the Chieftains looking past an improved Monterey squad with reigning champion San Benito on the horizon.
The Toreadores held Palma to four hits in the teams last meeting on March 22 in a 2-0 loss. St. Mary's bound Cameron Neff held Monterey to four hits with 10 strikeouts in the game.
But I'd be surprised if he threw today.
Minus the St. Francis debacle, Palma's pitching staff has allowed just 16 earned runs all year.
This is a must win for Monterey if it has title hopes. Falling three back with 10 remaining would be a big hole to dig out of.
