Pacific Grove baseball

Now do you believe a little more in the Breakers?
Two wins over two Gabilan Division opponents in the last two days has stretched their winning streak to 21 straight games.
No one is suggesting that Pacific Grove would go undefeated in the Gabilan Division. It's too strong of a league for any team to do that.
But Pacific Grove's schedule isn't as soft as some have suggested.
Five of its last six wins have come against teams that reached the playoffs last year. And two of its last three wins have come against teams that won league titles last year.
Plus this is a Pacific Grove team playing without arguably its best pitcher and best hitter all season.

Nobody is saying PG isn't a good team - just not the best team based on their body of work THIS year. Beating the last place team in the Gabilan by one run isn't the same as beating nationally ranked Valley Christian.

This reminds me of all that Carmel-Palma football talk two years ago. We all know how that story ended.

PG did beat Monte Vista 14-0. That same last place team you speak of beat Palma. I guess we'll find out in the Division III playoffs

PG is a good team, still think San Benito and Palma are tops. Both have better wins.

PG's schedule doen't deserve a first place finish until maybe later playoff time.

Hollister should be #1 and the rest up for debate. You yourself say PG would lose games in the Gabilan, yet you turn around and penalize Hollister for doing just that. Hollister has a more impressive resume at this point. Not taking anything away from PG - they deserve a lot respect but having to play 3 Gabilan games a week is different than playing one game loaded up with all of your pitchers available.
