Otter baseball

A season high and school record six-game winning streak has enabled the Otters to reach 30 wins this spring.
Having already surpassed the single-season school record for wins (26), CSUMB is in uncharted waters as it closes in on its first postseason berth.
Six of the Otters final eight games are at home, where the team is 20-5 this spring -- another school record.
Six starters are hitting over .300 for CSUMB, including San Benito graduates Mark Hurley (.358), Brian Haggett (.340) and Ronnie Fhurong (.328).
Gilroy native David Garcia leads the team in home runs (5) and RBI (29).
Pitching, though, carries teams in the postseason and the Otters have two aces. Will Anderson is 7-2 with a 1.82 earned run average while Jeff Owen is 9-1 with a team high 73 strikeouts.
