I don't think anyone is surprised that the Condors are in first place in the MBL's Pacific Division.
But Seaside?
A team that won just three games last season.
Even Seaside coach Sam Garcia admitted he didn't see this coming this spring.
Perhaps it's an infusion of youth that has sprung the Spartans as five freshmen fill out the roster, among them catcher Malia Usrey.
Having outscored four league opponents 60-10, the Condors have relied on a core of seniors, including hot-hitting Haley Balding and pitcher Danielle Blaylock.
Blaylock will face a Seaside squad, who has been sizzling at the plate behind four-year starting center fielder Bianca Kim and her .517 batting average.
