All star games tent to favor teams that can push the tempo and score in transition.
The South clearly has some speed with King City's Jessica Davis and Seaside's Sabrina Neal running the floor Friday in the Salinas Steinbeck all-star game at 6 p.m. at the Salinas Boys and Girls Club.
But it also has sharpshooters in Soledad's Felicia Villarruel, Greenfield's Abby Herrera and Santa Catalina's Lucy Scattini.
And it has a presence in the paint with North Salinas' Kayla Harper, Salinas' Kate Dalman and Gabilan Division MVP Darjhian Tennant of North Salinas.
Three members from CCS Division IV finalist Soquel will represent the North, including Madison Rocha, Tyler Stewart and Keahna Clark.
