Devin Pearson
The former Carmel three-sport standout is putting together an auspicious freshmen season for the Cal baseball team.
Pearson, a two-time Herald Athlete of the Year, is hitting .300 for the Bears and has yet to commit an error in the outfield.
Hitting in the leadoff spot, Pearson is second on the team in hit by pitches (7), third in runs scored (19) and fourth in hits (36). He's belted two homers and driven in 12 runs.
Pearson, who quarterbacked Carmel to a Central Coast Section title as a sophomore, is the only athlete to earn All-County honors in football, basketball and baseball.
Teammate Nick Halamandaris, who prepped at Stevenson, has started 15 games for the Bears as a designated hitter, and has one home run.
