Perfection will end for one team today when the reigning CCS Division III champion Cougars face arguably their biggest test of the season against Salinas at the Salinas Sports Complex.
Salinas and its blue collar attitude opened some eyes last weekend, knocking off seven-time CCS Division I champion and league rival San Benito in a tournament.
Both teams have been on scoring binges with Salinas having outscored four opponents 35-5, and the Cougars having blown out three opponents 31-3.
Tennessee bound catcher Annie Aldrete has three home runs in her last two games while Salinas has had five different players rack up multiple hit games.
Ironically, both teams' most significant loss from last season was their starting pitchers. Pitching has not been an issue for either program to date.
