Coming of their first league title in 16 years, the Chieftains strength starts with defending CCS long jump champion Marcus Washington and junior hurdler Devin Hinson.
Two events to watch are the 300 intermediate hurdles, where Hinson and the Cowboys Trevor Wason will meet, and the triple jump, where 1 1/2 separates Palma's Will Chilton and Salinas' Andrew Olivas.
Having Nick Marquez and Spencer Gamble in the 400 for Palma will help off-set Salinas' dominance in the distance events, anchored by Alex Adams.
| Yet, the turning point in this meet could come down to the relay events, which is a 10-point swing in a dual meet. Palma's 400 relay team is ranked sixth in the CCS while the Cowboys 1,600 relay team is ranked eighth. | |||||
