I actually think the Otters couldn't have asked for a better first round opponent in the NCAA Division II tournament than conference rival Chico State.
The two teams split their head-to-head conference battles with CSUMB beating them on the road 51-44, then falling in overtime in the season finale 84-75 in a game that meant nothing in the standings.
While the Otters are just 2-3 in their last five games, experience counts in the postseason and most of this squad has played in an NCAA tournament game.
Someone different has led the team in scoring in CSUMB's last five games. But Brittani Jefferson has been the most consistent.
In the Otters last meeting with Chico State, five different players were in double figures. Of course, the 75 points CSUMB allowed was a season high.
