MTAL softball projections

Mission Trail Athletic League
1. Santa Catalina: While it will miss pitcher Alex Pingree, the Cougars are going to score a lot of runs in league with Annie Aldrete in the heart of the order.
2. Carmel: Brittany File will shut down a lot of teams. The Padres defense has to be prepared to make a play or two.
3. Stevenson: The most improved team in the MTAL last spring has seven starters back.
4. Pacific Grove: A lot of youth and a lot of hope for the Breakers.
5. King City: Four of its top five hitters from last year are back in the lineup.
6. Gonzales: Could the Spartans be this year's Stevenson?
7. Soledad: Got out of the gates fast with a 3-0 start.
