Monterey baseball

The Toreadores will open their home season at Sollecito Park today against Christopher with a brand new scoreboard and a state-of-the-art all-weather infield.
There will be a dedication before the first pitch of the scoreboard, which will be named after the late Ben Omoto, a long-time Monterey coach, who also worked with youths for over 50 years.
Equally important for the Toreadores is bouncing back from a 10-7 loss to Christopher on Tuesday.
There are no creampuffs in the Gabilan Division.
The 10 runs were as many as Monterey had given up in its first four games this season.
