John Prader

 The former Salinas High multi talented track and field standout soared a career best 18-feet 1/2 inch in the pole vault recently for Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
 His clearance has Prader tied for the top mark in the NCAA.
 A senior at Cal Poly, Prader finished 14th last spring at the NCAA Championships in the pole vault, earning second team All-American honors.
 The defending Big West Champion, Prader holds the Salinas High and Monterey County record in the pole vault at 16-feet.
 As a senior, Prader finished sixth in the state in the pole vault in 2009. He also led the Cowboys to their first league track title in 18 years, producing points in both hurdle events and the long jump.
