Some may look at the first meeting between Seaside and North Salinas as a turning point in their seasons.
Seaside was undefeated in the Monterey Bay League's Gabilan Division before falling to North Salinas 61-53 on Jan. 22.
Since then the youthful Spartans have gone just 2-4 in league play.
Coming of an eight-point loss to rival Salinas, the Vikings started a seven game league winning streak with an emotional win over Seaside, climbing to the top of the league standings.
Darjhian Tennant has been unstoppable in the paint for the Vikings, having seen her scoring average climb nearly five points a game during the winning streak.
The Vikings strength has been their depth. This is a team with interchangeable parts than can push the tempo for 32 minutes and wear opponents down.
