The rematch just doesn't have the same anticipation or fire as the teams' first meeting three weeks ago.
Nor should it.
Alvarez hasn't been able to rediscover that fire that saw them jump out to a school record 9-0 start. Since then, it has gone just 2-11.
Seaside is still in the hunt for a share of the Gabilan Division title if it can beat Alvarez. But then it would need Alvarez to upset San Benito on Friday.
Stranger things have happened.
