The former Seaside High quarterback/defensive back and Harding University defensive end took part in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
Powell, a 6-foot-3, 250 pound defensive lineman, spent the week working out as a linebacker, where he possess 4.65 second 40-yard dash speed.
Named to the NCAA Division II All-American second team this past fall, the 2007 Seaside grad had 8 1/2 sacks and blocked four kicks, earning all-conference honors.
Powell was one of only three Division II players invited to the Senior Bowl. He has been projected as high as a third round pick in the upcoming draft.
Powell was on the 2006 Seaside championship football team that included Mason Foster, Joe Collins and Michael Avila.

Joe graduated the year before with Jermaine Carter. Ty played the first 5 games at QB and moved to CB after Mason took over at the half way point.
