Salinas football

For the fifth straight year, the Cowboys are in the CCS Division I semifinals.
But this is unfinished business for Salinas, who has seen its season fall short in each of the last four years.
Salinas played like a team possessed in Friday's 49-0 win over Fremont of Sunnyvale.
The Cowboys accepted the challenge of facing a team that set a CCS single game scoring record of 90 points -- by shutting them out.
Everett Ball piled up over 200 rushing yards while Jordan Torres went over the century mark with three touchdowns.
Now comes San Benito, a team it beat 26-6 earlier this year in Hollister, a team it hasn't beaten at The Pit in seven years.
Salinas will host the Balers in the semifinals after they bounced Alisal 28-0.
Now Salinas gets a shot to end two droughts in the same night.
