I don't know how far Palma will go in the Open Division playoffs.
Bellarmine and Serra are legit.
Personally I don't like how the CCS forces 'A' league champions into the Open Division.
If you have any ambitions about playing for a state title in your division, the Open Division is suicide.
But the Chieftains are clearly playing at another level right now, averaging just under 40 points a game during their seven game winning streak.
Three of those wins are against playoff bound teams.
An infusion of youth, namely quarterback Mitch Kidd and tailback Brandon Olivares, have changed the dynamics of the offense.
Yet, it's been the holdovers on defense, such as Jack Powers, Hildelv Manzur, Matthias Lopez, Austin Wahl and Tyler Escoto that have carried this team to another league title.

Looks like they face St Ignatious to start playoffs at Slinas Sports Complex who has a D1 QB and manhandled Mitty today. Saint Francis (whi Plama defeafted) manhandled Serra today 24-0. They may face Bells next if they win. Blls arn't close to last year although have a D1 QB (a junior) and lots of speed, but not physical. CCS Open Divivion is wide open.
