Football picks

No rhyme or reason, but perfection for the fourth time this fall improves the overall mark to 95-21 going into the playoffs.

 Friday's games
Soledad vs. Monterey at MPC: 'A' League teams should not be playing 'B' League teams in the playoffs. But that's not Monterey's fault. Pick: Monterey.

Capuchino at Seaside: The Mustangs have a running back that has rushed for more yards in one game than Seaside's leading rusher on the season: Pick: Seaside.

Fremont at Salinas: Fremont set a CCS record for points with 90 -- in one game. I bet it does not get a third of that production tonight: Pick: Salinas.

St. Ignatius vs. Palma at the Sports Complex: The Chieftains have won seven straight games. The Wildcats make the longest drive in the first round. Pick: St. Ignatius.

Soquel vs. Carmel at Pacific Grove: I don't believe Soquel is 28 points better, as was the case in the teams first meeting eight weeks ago. Pick: Soquel.

San Benito at Alisal: The history of the previous seven meetings between these two teams isn't good if you're an Alisal fan. Pick: Alisal.

Saturday's game
Pacific Grove at Sacred Heart Prep: Two years removed from a CCS Division IV title, the Gators are 9-1 this fall. Pick: Sacred Heart.

Wow...you must be getting serious about your pick record. You actually picked against three local teams in your picks this weekend!! St. Ig over Palma...how many times has norcalsportsfan told you Palma holds all the cards in this one? Soquel over Carmel might be the first time you picked against Carmel since 2008. PG losing to SHP...I'll buy that one.

Hope you know I'm just kidding.

Good luck to the local squads. Wouldn't it be great to see them go 7 for 7?
