A varsity roster under 20 players struggled on defense, where the Spartans gave up 40 or more points seven times. Gonzales lost its final six games.
Just eight seniors were on the roster. While the numbers weren't great at either level, 20 sophomore and junior players are in the program, creating hope. Grade: C -.
