David Fales

For the second time this fall, quarterback David Fales was named the Manning award Star of the Week for the San Jose State football team.
Sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the award is given weekly to eight quarterbacks for their efforts the week before.
Fales, who broke the Spartans single-season school records for passing yards and touchdowns two weeks ago, has thrown for 3,789 yards and 31 touchdown passes.
Both the records he broke were held by players that are in the San Jose State football Hall of Fame. Fales is third in the NCAA in passing efficiency, guiding the Spartans to 10 wins and a bowl game.
Fales, who led Palma to a league title in 2008, and Monterey Peninsula College to a conference title in 2011, also set a San Jose State school record for pass completions.
The 6-foot-3 junior spent a redshirt freshman season at the University of Nevada, when Colin Kaepernick was the starting quarterback.
One NFL draft board has Fales ranked as the ninth best quarterback in the NCAA.
