Salinas-Palma football

Salinas (4-3) vs. Palma (5-2), Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Salinas Sports Complex.
 I have concerns about the Cowboys defense, which has been hit with injuries. Then again, what team isn't battling injuries eight weeks into the season?
 Palma is also a little nicked up. But its offense has continued to progress,  producing more points in each of its last five games.
 Junior quarterback Mitch Kidd has come in and given the offense a spark. Palma has become a much more balanced attack during its four-game winning streak.
 While Salinas has an abundance of running backs to stop, Everett Ball needs more touches earlier in the game, where his big play potential can swing the momentum.
 Palma has beaten Salinas eight straight times. But the Cowboys lone win over Palma in the last 17 years came at the Sports Complex.
