This time the Panthers didn't let a big lead slip away in the fourth quarter in bouncing Mendocino.
In terms of morale, this was big.
Not only did Hartnell avoid an 0-3 start, but it whipped a team who is ranked in Nor Cal.
And it beat a team that had defeated a Coast Conference rival earlier this month.
What was impressive was the Hartnell defense. After giving up 84 points in its first two games, it allowed just 13 -- one meaningless touchdown in the fourth quarter.
