Brittany File had a great year. It's a real shame that Brooke Vierra, Savanna Hoffman (returning all-league senior 1st baseman), Kaylee Vandenberg (returning Junior 2 time All-County selection), and Hanna Smith weren't honored like they should have been for Carmel. There is horrible stuff happening there. It's very sad for the girls.

Coaches can't vote for their own kids in the MTAL.

To repeat as an all league player is huge and not always a sure thing. It is sad that the before mentioned players did not make the team and there were a lot of good players left off....however returning all league players have to play beyond expectations to impress opposing coaches a second time around. That is why I think it is a big accomplishment for athletes to repeat on their all league teams.

Apparently, coaches can put their own kids in as an automatic which doesn't need to go to vote. In some cases it's appropriate. In other cases, it's ridiculous.

Not True Truth. They can nominate. They can suggest. But there are no automatics. Coaches can not vote for their own players. Period.

OK, sorry. The point is the girls in Carmel are in a very unfortunate situation. I don't think anyone should take my word for it though. Please investigate for yourself.

And John...please investigate the "automatics" before you say they can't vote for their own players. I really think you are mistaken.

Either way...girls were not represented properly and anybody who saw all Carmel's games will tell you the same thing.
