CSUMB softball

It wasn't the ending the Otters envisioned, silenced in their last two games, seeing their record breaking season end abruptly on Saturday.
Then again, that's the postseason. There is no preparation for it to end.
Still 34 school records, including 46 wins will be difficult to duplicate.
 Or will it?
Losing seniors Jackie Serna and Jamie Moon will hurt.
But arguably the two best players on the team in pitcher Cori Reinhardt and first basemen Nina Villanueva are both freshmen.
Reinhardt won 23 games this year and hit over. 470. Villanueva rewrote the school and conference record for runs batted in (69), and set a new school mark for homers (16).
The core will be back. And so will the Otters.
