While the freshmen second baseman has cooled a bit at the plate, Ventimilia is still hitting .305 for the University of Hawaii baseball team.
Batting either in the leadoff spot or No. 2 for the Rainbows, the left-handed swinging Ventimilia leads the team in runs scored (29), walks (30) and stolen bases (9).
Ventimilia, who has started all 36 games, is second in hits (39) while driving in 10 runs. The Herald's Baseball Player of the Year last season, the Monterey grad sports a .970 fielding percentage.
