The hiring of Matias Perez as North County's new head football coach marks the first time in 10 years that the school has an on campus head coach.
Perez, a 1994 North County graduate, becomes the ninth head football coach in the programs 35 years, but the fourth in the last five years.
Perez hasn't coached in three years, having last served as a junior varsity coach at North County in 2008.
Perez has coached at various levels at various times at North County from 1995-2008.
