For the first time since the MTAL was formed, Stevenson will not win the league title. Going back to its days in the SCCAL, that's a run of eight straight league titles.
Up until last year, the Pirates hadn't lost a league game.
Yet, rather than look at this as the end of a dynasty, this is more about the emergence of the programs at league leader Carmel, Pacific Grove and York.
Better athletes are playing lacrosse in the spring. It's no longer a recreational sport.

Also, Palma is starting their program. With the athletes that school normally has, it ought to be interesting to see how long before they become competitive.
I understand there are a few club players who may be going to Palma to play next year.
