Carmel track

Seeing Carmel's run of 124 straight dual meet wins end on the track against Santa Catalina got me thinking what has happened since the Padres girls program last lost a dual meet in 1998.
Well, the Giants were still at Candlestick Park.
 There was no TCAL.
 Boys lacrosse and volleyball were recreation sports for most schools.
 Only one team in the MTAL had an all-weather track.
 Greenfield and Soledad did not exist.
 Carmel's track was black instead of red.
 And the Warriors were just as bad as they are today.
 What hasn't changed is the man behind the dynasty. John Ables is still the track coach at Carmel.
