The UC Santa Barbara bound hurler has pitched in all 13 games this spring for the Santa Catalina.
That's not unusual in softball. Plus she hasn't thrown as many pitches as you might think.
Seven of Santa Catalina's 13 games have ended in five innings because of the 10-run rule.
The Cougars have outscored opponents 128-9 this year.
I know head coach Jim Pingree does not want to throw his daughter in all four games this weekend in a prestigious tournament up north.
But if Santa Catalina is playing for a title and Alex has limited her pitch count by jumping ahead in the count and inducing hitters to swing at off-speed stuff, it will be hard to sit her down.
