Xavier Nady

The Salinas High graduate might have caught a break signing with the Nationals. Both of their projected first basemen are hurt right now.
 Nady, who signed a minor league deal with the Nationals, still has a couple of weeks to play himself into shape.
 Injuries have plagued Nady throughout his 10 year career in baseball. Last year he hit a career low .242 with the Diamondbacks.
 Nady has proven to be somewhat of a good luck charm among his six stops. He won a World Series ring with the Yankees, and has been to the postseason with Arizona and San Diego.
 The Mets were in first place before trading Nady to Pittsburgh in 2006. The Mets haven't sniffed first place since.
