Track and Field

A few names to watch today when the TCAL opens its final dual meet season include Palma's Matt Clary in the pole vault. Last spring he finished fourth in the CCS at 14-feet.
Gilroy's Jourdan Soares will line up in the blocks against Alvarez as the defending CCS champion in the 100 meters (10.66). He has also leaped over 23 feet in the long jump.
Francisco Salvador was a CCS finalist last spring in the 1,600 for Alisal, who faces North Salinas.

Soares and Byron Marshall from Valley Christian will be a great match-up to watch this coming season. Marshall didn't run track last season, but has been an elite 100M in his class for years. CCS should have a great sprint competition.
