Jayla Scholis' wind-aided time of 12.46 in the 100 meters is the third fastest time in the Central Coast Section this year.
Last year as a sophomore, the Seaside sprinter finished seventh in the CCS finals in 12.47.
The last female sprinter from Monterey County to reach the state track meet in the 100 meters was Sani Roseby in 2000.
