Playing in the same league as perennial CCS divisional powers San Benito and Notre Dame, it's easy to get overlooked.
But the Cowboys have quietly made noise of their own, having reached the postseason in the last five years, sweeping their season series with Notre Dame last spring.
The core of the team is back with San Jose State bound Casey Watt beginning her fourth year as a starter. All-leaguer Justine Armento will handle the pitching duties. Marissa Bravo is a catalyst at the top of the order.
Salinas has a new direction with a new coach. The hope is the distractions in past years will be a thing of the past in its quest for its first CCS title since 1998.
