In one game, the Grizzlies nearly matched their entire run total from last year of 13 with 12 in a win over Alisal.
But Pajaro Valley hasn't scored since. Last year it was shutout nine times in a 1-15 season. Seven starters are back, including its two leading hitters from last year in Vanessa Soto and Christina Cawaling.
The next step for the Grizzlies is snapping a 26-game league losing streak.
