Notre Dame-Gilroy softball

In terms of morale, this is a big game for the Spirits, who have dropped four straight games, having been outscored 26-3.
 It's not like the Spirits have played creampuffs, losing two games to WCAL powers Mitty and Valley Christian, and falling 3-2 to 8-1 Soquel.
 But Notre Dame has not shown a lot of life at the plate during its four-game skid.
 Then again, keep in mind that the Spirits started slow last spring and recovered for a playoff run. But the core of that team is back. Expectations are a little higher this year.
