Missing the postseason two straight years hasn't happened in 25 years at North Salinas.
The belief is the Vikings have the parts this year to end the drought.
Opening the TCAL season today by hosting six-time CCS Division I champion San Benito, the Vikings offense is anchored by all-league slugger Danielle Nieto.
This year she has support in the batting order with Katelyn Doyle, Toby Mendoza and Devyn Duran.
Doyle has also been throwing darts on the rubber for North Salinas.
Two of North Salinas' three losses this spring have come from two reigning league champions.
