North County softball

A hot start -- one of the best in the school's 33-year history -- was tamed when the Condors five-game winning streak was halted by North Salinas.
 Still, producing 64 runs in their first five games got people's attention.
 And it should have.
 North County can pack a punch in the heart of the order with Kayla Daniels, Janell Godfrey, Andrea Estigoy and Danielle Blaylock -- four of the teams top five hitters from last spring.
 Blaylock will be called upon to pitch a majority of the innings for the Condors, who have not won a league title in 17 years.
