Herald All-Star Girls Basketball Team


 Annie Aldrete, Santa Catalina: The junior three-sport standout helped propel the Cougars to an MTAL title, leading the team in scoring at just under 14 points a game. Aldrete was among the team leaders in rebounds and steals.
 Sarah Anderson, Carmel: A four-year starter for the Padres, Anderson was the most dangerous player from beyond the 3-point arc, dropping in 58 3-pointers. She averaged 16 points a game, earning MTAL MVP honors.
Jessica Davis, King City: A member of The Herald's All-County volleyball team last fall, Davis led the Mustangs in assists, steals and 3-point goals, averaging 13.9 points a game.
 Victoria Dorn, Seaside: A three-time member of The Herald's All-County team, Dorn played the entire season with a torn ACL. A soft shooting touch from the outside, the 5-foot-6 senior averaged 13.8 points and 5.1 assists.
 Kristina Hlavacek, Salinas: The team captain helped restore the pride at Salinas, coming up with clutch baskets all season, finishing among the team leaders in points, rebounds and steals.
 Eva Latu, Alisal: The Tri-County Athletic League's Player of the Year, Latu led the league in scoring at 16.3 points a game, often drawing double and triple teams. She pulled down 10.2 rebounds and dished out 3.1 assists.
 Jenna Linham, Notre Dame: One of the most improved players in the county, the center delivered in the clutch for the TCAL champion Spirits, playing her best games on the biggest stage.
 Priscilla Mora, North County: The senior led the Condors and the MBL in scoring (19.8) and rebounds (20.2). She also was the team leader in assists, steals and block shots, compiling 25 double-doubles.
 Sabrina Neal, Seaside: A nice compliment to Dorn, Neal emerged as one of the MBL's leading scorers, averaging just under 17 points a game. She was also among the team leaders in rebounds and steals.
 Felicia Villarruel, Soledad: The junior sharpshooter led the county in scoring at just under 23 points a game. She also recorded a county high 60 3-point goals, and was among the team leaders in steals and assists.
 John Given, Notre Dame coach: Returning to Notre Dame after a five-year absence, Given resurrected the program in one season, guiding them to their first TCAL title in seven years.
