Herald All-Star Boys Basketball Team

Noah Allen, Palma: The 6-foot-6 junior guard put the Chieftains on his shoulders in big games, averaging 23 or more points in six of his last eight games. The TCAL Most Valuable Player averaged 18 points a night and was among the team leaders in rebounds and assists.
 Andre Caldwell, Salinas: The 6-foot-4 senior post was a menace in the paint for the Cowboys, averaging 16.8 points and 10.2 rebounds a game. Caldwell scored double figures in 20 of the teams 22 games, while banging with the best.
 Stephen Dorsey, Monterey: A double-double machine for the MBL champion Toreadores, the 6-foot-4 Dorsey had  15 games with 10 or more points and rebounds. The reigning CCS high jump champion was a shot blocking artist, finishing with 88 blocks, including a career high 11 in one game.
  Tucker Forbes, Stevenson: The 6-foot-8 center was unstoppable in the paint for the Pirates, averaging 20.1 points a game. The senior led the county in rebounds (294) and the MTAL in block shots (42). His presence in the key on defense forced a lot of teams to settle for jump shots.
  Brandon Hanson, Monterey: The transfer became a part of the Toreadores Big Three, leading the team in scoring at just under 18 points a game. The 6-foot-1 guard had a team high 80 steals and also pulled down 235 rebounds and dished out 91 assists.
 Devin Pearson, Carmel: One of three repeaters on The Herald's All-County team, Pearson was the MTAL Player of the Year, leading the team in scoring. His forte was defense as the four-year starter took on the opponents best offensive option on the outside.
 Chris Russo, Monterey: The sharpshooter dropped in 17.8 points a game for the Toreadores, triggering them on a 17-game winning streak. Penetrating to the basket, Russo knocked down 100 free throws. The guard led the team in assists (96).
 Ronnie Turner, Alvarez: The only sophomore named to the team, Turner evolved into one of the premier players in the county, averaging just under 18 points a game. Returning from a slightly torn ACL for the playoffs, the 6-foot-2 Turner was among the teams best defenders.
 Dan Vann-Victorino, North Salinas: Helped lead the Vikings back to the playoffs after a two-year absence, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. The 6-foot-5 Vann-Victorino disrupted opponents in the key with his defensive prowess.
 Jordan Villaneda, Salinas: Explosive to the basket, the senior guard provided the Cowboys with a second option on the perimeter, averaging just under 15 points a game, leading the team in 3-point goals. Villaneda was among the team leaders in assists and steals.
 Rich Frank, Carmel coach: Taking the job a month before the season started, Frank endured an 0-7 start before Carmel closed with a 16-3 finish, defending its Mission Trail Athletic League title.
