Fab four at San Jose State

Mike Aldrete has been nearly unhittable in relief for San Jose State, compiling a 2-0 record with a 0.96 earned run average.
 The junior hurler, who prepped at Salinas and spent last season at MPC, has been clocked at 92 mph on the radar gun. Aldrete has also started five games at shortstop.
 Teammate and roommate David Wayne Russo is 3-2 as a starter for the Spartans with a 3.93 earned run average, striking out 11 in 18 innings of work.
 D.J. Slaton is 1-2 as a starter for San Jose State while one-time Carmel slugger Michael Gerlach has started five games in the outfield for the Spartans.
